Should I allow pets in my rental property? This is a common question that most rental properties have when investing in the property. At Aplus Realty Property Management Shady Hills, we suggest that you should at least allow one, small pet onto your rental property. Most property managers would agree that it opens you up for more renters, more possible renters means more options to decide on who should move into your rental. This is always a great thing, when you are looking to get a tenant into your rental property as fast as possible it is best to open up the demographics.
Pros of allowing pets in your rental property:
- Larger list of potential tenants – this opens you up to an entire new set of renters who already have a hard time finding a place.
- You can charge more for monthly rent and a larger deposit on your rental – this is a huge plus because if the animal does cause any damage they have already paid for it upfront and if it does not it is your added profit!
- You’ll always find that when you allow a pet into the property that the tenants are happier. It is not easy to find a place that will allow pets. A happy tenant is a happy owner!
- Some tenants will attempt to bring in pets anyways – and even though your dedicated property manager will make sure that your lease is being followed, they are not there every second of the day. There is a high some tenants will sneak in pets anyways – if you allow it at least you will be able to charge more and not have a random animal in your rental making a mess.
The most important part is that you decide what is best for your investment. Property managers will always make sure to lay all of your options out on the table so you can customize what you will need for your rental property. At Aplus Realty Property Management we are here for our clients we want them to succeed as much as they have helped this company to succeed. Property managers are always here to answer any questions you may have.
